ICC baseball gets thrilling sweep of Mississippi Delta

FULTON, Miss. – Lightning struck twice for the Indians (8-0) in a pair of non-conference, extra-inning wins over the Mississippi Delta Community College Trojans on Friday.

Sophomore catcher Hunter Nabors (Montevallo, Ala.) had a walk-off single to right in the bottom of the eighth inning in the Indians' 10-9 Game 1 win over the Trojans and a walk-off single to center in the bottom of the eighth a 7-6 Game 2 victory.

Connor Lewis (Corinth) and Drake Wallace (Amory) each went 3-for-4 in the first game of the day. Wallace had a pair of RBI and Lewis added another. Kyle Crigger (Corinth) went 2-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run and picked up his first win of the season after striking out one and walking another in 2.2 inning of scoreless and hitless work in the 10-9 win.

Lewis had a solo home run and Nabors went 2-for-4 in the Indians' 7-6 win in the nightcap. Braden Ellis (Saltillo) picked up his first win of the season after giving up 2 hits in 2.2 scoreless innings of relief duty.

Nabors went 4-for-9 with 2 RBI in the doubleheader.

ICC is scheduled to host Southwest Tennessee Community College on Tuesday and to travel to Snead State (Ala.) Community College on Saturday – weather pending.
