Southwest Hires New Defensive Coordinator

Trevor Stigers has been hired as the new defensive line coach for the Bears football team. He comes to Summit after one season in the same position at Hinds Community College.

 

A native of Crawford, MS, Stigers is a 2012 graduate of Mississippi State University. He was a four-year member of the Bulldogs football team, playing defensive line for Coaches Sylvester Croom and Dan Mullen. Among his career highlights are wins in the Gator Bowl and TaxSlayer Bowl.

 

Stigers is a graduate of Ridgeland High School where he was ranked the 51st-ranked defense end in the country by Scout.com. He also participated in the Mississippi-Alabama High School All-Star football game.

 

Prior to the start of his coaching career at Hinds, Stigers served as a defensive line intern at Jackson State University (2017) and the Philadelphia Eagles (2018).
