Week 1:  The Stock is Rising

The 2020 season has kicked off and week one is in the books.  Week 1 winners were Coahoma, Northeast, Co-lin, Jones, and MS Gulf Coast.

Each week we will highlight the MS JUCO football players that have caused their stock to rise because they were the best of the best, delivered for their teams, and therefore helped themselves in increasing their value with senior colleges and universities.


    Stock is Rising for these Players:



Co-Lin sophomore QB Paul Hargrave:  21/28 for 201 yards and threw for 2 touchdowns

Jones sophomore QB Quaterius Hawkins:   16/25 226 yards and threw for 1 touchdown


Wide Receivers

Itawamba Sophomore wide receiver Qua Davis: led the league on opening night with nine catches;  1 touchdown catch

Co-lin sophomore wide receiverErick Rogers: 8 catches, 1 touchdown

Co-Lin sophomore wide receiver Tyquan Henderson:  8 catches, 2 touchdowns 


Running Backs

MS Gulf Coast sophomore running back Deondre House:  led the league with 220 yds on 21 carries; 1 touchdown

Jones freshman running back Romal Webb:  112 yds;  rushed for 2 touchdowns on 11 carries



Pearl River sophomore LB Noah Mitchell:  led the league on opening night with 15 total tackles

Itawamba sophomore LB Corley Hooper:  14 total tackles

Northeast sophomore LB Tayvius Duckett:  13 total tackles

MS Gulf Coast sophomore LB Navonteque Strong:  13 total tackles


Special Teams

Co-lin sophomore kicker Bryce Lofton: went 5/5 in extra points and 2/2 in field goal attempts hitting from 38 and 46 yards respectively
