MOORHEAD – Torenzo Quinn, a Ruleville native and former Mississippi Delta Community College standout, has been named as the new offensive coordinator for the Trojans football program.

Quinn comes to Moorhead from the University of Arkansas – Pine Bluff, where he has been since spring 2018 in a number of roles, including coaching the safeties and defensive backs and serving as the Assistant Head Coach and defensive passing game coordinator.

He is no stranger to new head coach Cedric Thomas, having played defensive back under Thomas at MDCC and then coached under Thomas as a graduate assistant coach at Alcorn State University (2016 and 2017) and later at UAPB during Thomas' two-year head coaching stint.

"Torenzo brings a homegrown spirit that is second to none," said Thomas about his new hire. "Not only did he get his coaching start here, but he slept in the same dorm, played on the same field and graduated to go on and play Division I football from here. He brings a lot of knowledge, not only associated with football, but also about this great institution."

Prior to Alcorn, Quinn spent three seasons at Ruleville Central High School as the offensive coordinator, and also spent a year as a defensive backs coach at MDCC.

Quinn is a 2010 graduate of the University of Memphis, where he was a two-year starter at the nickelback position. He earned a bachelor's degree in liberal studies from the U of M, before going on to earn a master's degree in athletic coaching from North Central University in 2016.

He is married to Amber and the couple has three kids, sons Marqueveon (14) and Carter (7), and daughter, Chloe (3).
