FULTON, Miss. – Itawamba Community College's Tre Jenkins and Eric Brown have both signed to continue their basketball careers next season. Jenkins will be joining the Mississippi College squad and Brown will be taking his talents to Ouachita Baptist University.
Jenkins (Tupelo) averaged 12.4 points and 3.0 rebounds per game during his sophomore season. The 6-foot-2 guard scored a career-high 23 points in the Indians' 73-61 win over Wallace-Selma (Ala.) Community College last season and grabbed a career-best seven rebounds against Shelton State (Ala.) Community College as a freshman.
The men's basketball team at Mississippi College is a Division II program and is a member of the Gulf South Conference.
Brown (Greenville) averaged 8.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in his final season with the Indians. The 6-foot-3 guard scored a career-high 14 points at Shelton State and a career-high six rebounds and five assists at Mississippi Delta Community College.
Ouachita Baptist University is located in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. The men's basketball team is a Division II program and is a member of the Great American Conference.
The duo are the third and fourth members of last year's squad to continue their education and athletic careers. Brian Halums (Simmons) signed with Ole Miss in November and Joseph Jones (Tupelo) signed with Belhaven University earlier this month.
