CLARKSDALE- Recently, the Coahoma Community College Softball team was recognized for several standout players becoming members of the MACJC All State Academic Team. Six players went beyond the call of duty to achieve their goals on and off the field.
Jakayah Netterville, Sha'Terrika Bernard, Mayson Ray, Lauren Schmidt, Brooke Saez and Alicia Witherspoon all averaged over a 3.2 GPA during the 2017-18 school year. This is the highest team GPA in Head Coach Erin Smith's tenure. "They all worked hard to maintain their grades and their education is important to them," said Coahoma Head Coach Erin Smith. "They are very matured and professional in the classroom.
"They won't play sports forever and it's important to get an education," said Smith. "I'm extremely proud of the hard work they put in. My goal is to have the highest team GPA each semester. This achievement makes Coahoma and my softball program look good."
Congratulations for a job well done and achieving your goals for Tiger Nation.
