Six Mississippi JUCO teams ranked in first NJCAA baseball top 20 poll.

 JUCO BASEBALL in Mississippi continues to garner national respect. The following teams are ranked in the first NJCAA top 20 poll.  

 

#3    Pearl River

#10  Meridian

#14  Jones College 

#16  Itawamba

#19  East Central

#20  Co-Lin

Pearl River, redshirt freshman Von Seibert is tied for first in the conference with eight home runs and is second nationally. Redshirt freshman Graham Crawford is next with seven round trippers. Outfielder Tate Parker and Crawford are atop the conference with 25 runs batted in.

Meridian freshman pitcher Alec Sparks is 3-0 early on and has an era of 2.53 and 31 strikeouts in 21.1 innings pitched.

Jones College freshman Preston Ratliff is batting .397 with 4 homers and 24 runs batted which is good for second best in the conference in 22 games.

Itawamba freshman pitcher Brady Davis is tied for the conference lead in wins with four and has 32 strikeouts in 35 innings pitched.

East Central sophomore pitcher Walker Johnson owns a league best 1.50 earned run average in eight appearances to go along with 30 strikeouts. Freshman infielder Amani Larry is tied for the conference lead in stolen bases with 12 in 18 games.

Copiah Lincoln freshman pitcher Caleb Rutledge has thrown 27.1 innings and is second in strikeouts with 37 in 6 appearances.
